“This marks the most-watched episode ever for a Showtime series, with the 1.23 million single-airing haul surpassing the previous record of “Soul Food,” which drew 1.21 million in 2004. “

Good news for all of us. The popularity of Dexter increases and with this popularity we will probably see more seasons of Dexter in the future. Nice!

[If you haven´t seen episode 9 there might be some spoilers below]

Another nice episode again! Doakes chase for Dexter continues in Haiti, and he tries to do everything out of the reach of Miami PD, but now Lundy has him as the suspect. Nice twist indeed. Now Dexter is off the radar and Doakes is the suspect.

The ending of the episode where Doakes finally caught Dexter and where Dexter locks Doakes up was a nice twist. With Doakes as the Miami PD suspect, but locked up by wounded Dexter - how will Lundy find out the truth? How will Dexter get away with it? Can Dexter kill a good man like Doakes, or can he just kill bad guys? The last upcoming episodes will tell us.

During the previous episode (S02E08) Dexter finally realized how disturbed Lila really is, and in this episode Dexter is trying to get back to Rita, but as usual with Dexter, things don’t go as he wants to. Lila is probably as disturbed (even more?) as Dexter, and it’s good to see how uncomfortable Dexter gets when she’s around.

Even though this episode was good, there is one thing I don’t get: The sub-plot with Debra and Lundy and their little sex-love-game. It doesn’t fit in the original Bay Harbor Butcher plot. Maybe the writers of Dexter have a clue how to tie that sub-plot in to the original. I don’t know, but they better do it, cause otherwise it’s a totally worthless sub-plot.

P.S. Isn’t it time for the makers of Dexter to decide how many blood samples there are in the famous blood sample box? In a previous episode we have seen 27 blood samples, but now we see that it’s actually 46? 19 more kills from Dexter during the Bay Harbor Butcher investigation? I don’t think so…

The upcoming episode of Dexter, this time called “Resistance is futile” will be aired tomorrow, and they will get closer and closer to Dexter. Doakes are now really close to find out the truth about Dexter, but is he digging to deep?
The two sneak peaks and the promo of episode 9 gives us some spoilers, but they falsely give us the feeling that Dexter will get caught by Lundys crew. I think we will see a new twist of this where Doakes will be taken for the Bay Harbor Butcher. They willnever end this season with Dexter getting caught, so what’s the alternative? I can’t find any other way then Dexter fix this by putting everything on Doakes… Only time will tell.

Yesterday I came across a really interesting interview with Michael C. Hall called Michael C. Hall Reveals Dexter’s Inner Secrets that can be found at seattlepi.nwsource.com.

It’s good to see what the actor thinks about this season and also how he thinks about his acting and what he thinks about his character Dexter.

Some good parts of the interview with Michael C. Hall:
Michael C. Hall: “In a way, Dexter is alienating and hurting people in a way he never has before, and it’s in the midst of him entertaining the possibility of his rehabilitation. You watch him and you’re almost like, “I wish he’d just start killing people again!” Because that’s who he really is; that’s who we’ve experienced him to be. It’s a tricky thing that the show creates in the audience a sense where they actually root for him to get back to that. And, you know… when and if he does, I think as an audience you’re kind of left with the fact that you wished for it. “

And also a teaser regarding the relationship between Lila and Dexter:
TVGuide.com: Has he met his match?
Michael C. Hall: “We’ll see. [Laughs] It’s only a matter of time before the extent of her darkness and how it might threaten Dexter will reveal itself. And how he deals with that, we’ll see. “

[If you haven´t seen episode 8 there might be some spoilers below]

First of all, this episode was great, really great. The last episode was in comparison pretty average. Good then to see that this episode had it all: The old school darkly dreaming Dexter, the ruthless Doakes, Lundy getting closer to the truth and Lila more crazy than ever. All the ingredients for making a good Dexter episode. Hopefully it will stay this way the upcoming four episodes of season 2 as well.

I start with a quote from this episode, from Dexter’s mind:
“It seems my manifesto unintentionally helped Lundy narrow his focus. That’s what I get trying for emulating Lila and take the offensive. I’ve always worked best in the shadows, that’s where I have to stay.”

It’s good to see that Dexter finally sees the dark side of Lila and gets back to his real darkly murderous Dexter that we know and love. Many watchers would like Dexter to kill Lila, they can’t stand her. I’m not so sure what I want - she is kinda hot so please let her live some more episodes ;). Despite the hot-factor of Lila the ending of the episode left us on a cliffhanger and only time will tell if she will survive the wrath of Dexter.

Let us continue with another great quote from Dexter’s mind:
“When I let my guard down I opened myself up for attack, or capture. I need to embrace who I am, who I’ve always been. I need to kill the man who murdered my mother.”

“I’d almost forgotten this feeling, driving toward a kill. All my senses sharpened. It’s like I’ve been under water holding my breath and now I can finally breathe.”

On one side it’s good to see him evolve and get control of his feelings, but on the other side it’s nice to see the darkly dreaming Dexter again. With the old school Dexter back we finally saw some nice killing from Dexter. Business as usual, this time with a chainsaw - neat!

There is not many episodes left for this season and Doakes is getting closer. With Doakes finding of Dexter’s stash it will probably be a real hunt for the Bay Harbor Butcher. On one side, Sgt. Doakes, on the other side Dexter and maybe even the Miami PD as a third wild card. Will Dexter survive this? My guess? Yes, but this time it will be close as hell…

Pretty good as always, but as always I want to see more episodes. I don’t know what the problem is actually, but it seems to take some time before the episodes come out and they always cover pretty old killings. I would like them to produce more episodes, and also about killings by Dexter we haven’t seen before.

Nonetheless, here is the new episode:
They don’t say too much actually but one thing is absolutely sure, Lundy is getting closer to the truth.

But the promo is interesting. There you will see some more clips that can look like spoilers. Tensions between Dexter and Lila begins to rise and Doakes continues hiss search for the real dark Dexter. And now we also know that Dexter will start to kill again. Nice! That probably also means that they will put up a new Dark Defender Episode online. The producers have been pretty slow with this, and they only got two episodes live, i don’t get that. They could launch new episodes every week, people like them and they are perfect promotion for the series.

[If you haven´t seen episode 7 there might be some spoilers below]

Dexter season 2 keeps getting better and better. As we saw in the two sneak peaks of the episode Sgt. Doakes is getting closer into Dexter background in the dark bloody container, but Dexter handles it very well, indeed - he gets in the way for Doakes every time - high five for Dexter!

With the help from Lila Dexter now seems to handle the situations better and also seems to enjoy the publicity of the Bay Harbor Butcher case. That´s an interesting twist indeed. The cat and mouse game between Doakes and Dexter is also a good way to get to know Dexters past even more. The continuous flashbacks of Dexters mother and the crime scene we have seen in previous episodes will probably continue throughout the whole Season 2. Even though we didn´t see any of it this episode I´m sure that the upcoming episodes will show more of these interesting flashbacks.

Another thing I love about Dexter Season 2 is that they usually shows every murder and sex scene and don´t censor it at all. All of you who enjoyed the last sex scene with Lila last episode will love the start of this episode - sexy and intense - no question about that. The creators of Dexter don´t censor anything actually, they gladly show almost everything in their sex scenes. Actually - this episode is probably the episode that contains most nudity. During this episode you will see Lila (Jaime Murray) half naked all the time. For example - in this episode you will see three different sex scenes with Dexter and Lila. For some this is probably the only reason why they follow Dexter every week ;-).

Best quotes of this episode:
Dexter: “They are still playing my tune. It´s like I´m conducting a final symphony - requiem for demonic Dexter. And forming the entire brass section - Sgt. James Doakes. When I reach the end maybe I can later rest the monster formally known as Dexter.”

Doakes to Dexter: “Your past is a bigger mystery then fucking Jimmy Hoffa.”

Dexter to Doakes: “In that case Sgt. let me put this in the open for you. No matter what you try, no matter when, no matter how hard you work, I will always be a step ahead of you for one simple reason: I own you!”

It´s good to see that Sgt. Doakes is back on track with his suspicions of Dexter and Dexter do what he is best at, slowing him down…

If you look at the official promo-text of the episode:

“A written manifesto from the “Bay Harbor Butcher” sends the Special Task Force in charge of capturing the killer into chaos. All part of Dexter’s plan as he tries to be more “pro-active” in keeping Agent Lundy off his tail. But things start to spiral downward for Dexter as Lila’s influence begins to take its toll on Dexter’s personal life. “

Seems like we will see some more tension between Lila and Dexter - and it will be good to see how far this will go.

New episode of the Dark Defender series has been out for a day now, and it still keeps up with the same theme and styler. Pretty much as good as the first episode.

What I want now is more episodes of the Dark Defender episodes and this time not only on Dexters killings we have seen before on television, but other of his killings before the first season. We know that the first episode of season 1 was not directly his first kill. I would prefer a twist of the Dark Defender episodes which focuses on the Dexters time and killings before the TV-series timeline.
